Summary
Review of Actions:
Sian Hartley talked about the board’s progress. Good news! Lots of tasks are done, and a few are still ongoing. Adrian Leach said they’re ready to hire new team members soon, and everyone got invites for the EHCP Deep Dive session.
Urgent Item - Improvement Notice:
Elizabeth Hartley explained a new notice to make things better for children and families. The board is doing well and will keep improving. Members were reminded to attend all important meetings.
Written Statement of Action Impact Group:
Elizabeth updated on the action group’s work. They’ve made a new plan to help SEND children, which will be checked by the SEND Executive Group. Success will be measured by meeting deadlines and getting good feedback from parents.
SEND Dashboard:
Julia Bryant showed a new dashboard to track how well the SEND system is working. The board approved it with a few changes. They will check it every month to see how things are going.
Educational Psychology Service Redesign:
Adrian Leach talked about changes in the Educational Psychology Service. They’ll hire more psychologists to help with assessments. The new plan should start making a difference by the end of the summer.
New Neurodevelopmental Pathway Model:
Lorna Quigley presented a new model to help children with ADHD and ASD. It focuses on their needs, not just diagnoses. The new model will start later this year.
Speech and Language Recovery Plan:
Lorna also shared a plan to help children with speech and language issues. They need more therapists and some extra money to make it work. The goal is to reduce waiting times.
Risk Register:
Sian Hartley reviewed risks the board faces. They identified ten main risks and will keep an eye on them to avoid any problems.
