You Said, We did
At SENDLO we value feedback from our users to improve our website. We want to make sure it meets the needs of everyone, including those with special educational needs and disabilities. Users can share their thoughts and ideas to help shape the future development of the website. This helps us identify areas to improve, fix any problems, and add new features. By listening to users, we want to create a website that is easy to use and helps everyone learn online.
You Said, We Did
“You said - use less words & add more visuals/videos”
We reduced the quantity of text and bought software to enable us to create videos that help explain text and navigate the website.
You asked for a less cluttered website
We are working hard to create an engaging and simple to navigate website with clear and relevant content.
You asked for more information on ADHD
We have created ADHD specific content on the site in the Directory of SEND. ADHD is also an accessibility profile in the USERWAY tool in the bottom left corner of the website. Just click the blue button and you can easily select the ADHD profile which will adjust the website to make it even easier for you to read and navigate the website.
You asked for a mapping out of the health offer as part of our SEND Transformation and Improvement Journey
Whilst the NHS Logo is a well-known brand of Health Services, the NHS and wider health structure is often complex. It is important that people understand how and where they can access help and support at the earliest opportunity as well as being able to coordinate their health journey or pathway, especially if their journey includes multiple services and organisations.
There have been recent requests as part of the SEND Transformation and Improvement Journey to map out the ‘Health’ offer, identifying Commissioning and Provider roles, responsibilities and structures. NHS Cheshire & Merseyside Integrated Care Board have produced the following model for Wirral Place, which should provide some level of clarity. Individuals are encouraged to access the organisation or service website for more information or specific health advice.
There should be no wrong door when accessing health services. Primary and Universal Services are there to help you receive the individual care and support you or your child need.
“You said we don’t under stand some of the information”
We’ve are working hard to make sure content is suitable for a reading age of 9. We’ve also reduced the use of acronyms and give clear no nonsense explanations where we have to use them.
You asked us for a more accessible website
We have built SENDLO with accessibility as a key driver in shaping how the website looks and is used. We have an accessibility tool called Userway available in the bottom left corner of the website which has really helped to make the website easier to access. With Userway people visiting the website can change colours, fonts, sizes, use voice navigation and make use of pre set usability profiles that automatically correct the website for specific disabilities such as ADHD or Partially Sighted.
We have also included a language selection tool available in bottom right of the screen which enables users to change the language of content across the website making content more accessible for none native English speaking people.
