Complex Needs Summer 2024 opportunity
Exciting development to share! A 4 week programme devised to enable us to provide really key information on SENDLO and improve provision to benefit Wirral families with COMPLEX needs is going to run over the summer holidays. It’s a super tight turnaround as we need the families with complex needs children interested in being part of this project to respond asap and no later than Tuesday 30th July. It’s tight because we are reacting to an issue raised by Parents and Carers and we want to maximise the time available during the school summer holidays. It’s an opportunity the Wirral SEND Participation & Engagement group don’t want to miss.
Parents and Carers of complex needs children & young people, if having read the information set out below, you’re interested in getting involved in this small scale taster programme, please complete the attached form and return it via e mail selinewakerley@wirral.gov.uk
WHY - Parents & Carers of Wirral children & young people with complex needs have raised an issue around the limited options for activities suitable for youngsters with more severe & complex needs. Families report finding little in the way of offer for activities for their multi complex needs young person. This will be a space where their lived experience can help us to identify what is needed to support their young person.
WHAT- To respond to this concern & to better understand the barriers & needs, we have arranged a 4 week programme of 2 hour sessions to run during the school summer holidays which will involve a small group of SEND young people & their families (siblings most definitely welcomed & encouraged to join us) to enable us to listen, learn & go away better placed to improve the offer & the quality of the information shared on SENDLO. https://www.sendlowirral.co.uk/
