Family Help and MDT

playmobil characters

Building our network In recent years we’ve re-shaped Early Help to allow families to have more control of how and when they are supported. Now we are evolving again, this time to a ‘Family Help’ system, listening to our families and drawing upon the guidance shared through Working Together 2023 and the new Children’s Social Care National Framework guidance.

What is new?

Family Help will see the recently launched Family Hubs, working with four new Multi Disciplinary Teams (MDTs). These MDTs, covering the whole borough, will work alongside Family Hubs and other community partners. They will bring together services including; early childhood, youth and play, family matters and domestic abuse. The aim in moving to this new model and way of working is to help our teams be more accessible, better connected and to build stronger relationships with our partner organisations. This is an exciting next step, but by no means the final stop on our collective journey.

What do we need our partners to do?

We would love your involvement in

• Building relationships with your Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDTs) and getting to know the Family Hubs which are still developing in your area

• Encouraging/promoting residents to connect with Family Help services

• Thinking about how your services could link with Family Hubs to support families in the community

• Reaching out to our MDTs with advice, feedback, and ideas about how we can tweak or develop our Family Help community culture and services within it

How can I/my organisation get involved?
