COSMOS would love to hear from you!

COSMOS (Community of SEND Mothers Obtaining Solutions) is a new group for Wirral families. It provides a voice for parents and carers of children and young people with SEND.

Cheryl Richardson, Lizzie Keown, Jess Ryan, and Chris Osuagwu lead the group. They are all SEND parents and aim to bring about positive change in the local area. They know how challenging and lonely it feels. Also, how tough and confusing SEND systems can be.

COSMOS works in partnership with Wirral Council to improve SEND provision in Wirral. In only 5 months, the group have made fantastic links with a range of services. They attend many events in Wirral to meet parents and carers. This includes evening events so that working parents can benefit too.

Their social media following on Facebook (Cosmos Wirral) is growing. They are currently recruiting new members, so take a look. An increasing number of parents and carers are offering to work with them. Every offer COSMOS gets helps them reach more people.

COSMOS has built strong relationships across the SEND community. Wirral settings are inviting them to create hubs. The hubs will help COSMOS to reach families right across Wirral. They help parents and carers find the right support. It will also help COSMOS gather feedback for the local area.

With the support COSMOS provides, families have a place to go. They get a listening ear and signposting to help. Parents and carers are always welcome to work with the group. It is a chance to use their own lived experience to support positive outcomes.
