Wirral EBSA Strategy are collaborating with PCPW to offer the free training sessions for Wirral parents and carers. The training is designed to help support Wirral families who are experiencing emotionally based barriers to school attendance. The workshop will include:

  • Information about emotional barriers that can impact on school attendance.

  • Practical tips and strategies for supporting children and young people at home, including neuro-affirmative approaches.

  • Guidance on how to raise concerns with schools and how to collaborate with professionals to support children and young people.

Feedback from the previous workshops has been positive with attendees commenting that the resources and information provided was “excellent” and “very helpful” with “strategies and tools to try”. Parents and carers also said that it was useful to find out what the EBSA approach across Wirral is and how to approach schools with plans. One parent even noted that they found the training “very empowering!”
