Resilience and Wellbeing

This course helps people learn about resilience and how stress affects their wellbeing. You will take part in fun exercises and activities that will help you notice when you might be feeling stressed. You will also learn how to manage your stress better.

By the end of the course, you will understand how small changes can lead to better wellbeing and stronger emotional health. We will talk about Mindfulness, which is a way to help reduce stress, and you will get tips on how to use it in your daily life.

Course Timings:

10:00 until 15:00

Sessions:

Session One

  • Talk about what resilience is

  • Learn what affects a person's resilience

  • Discuss things that can impact mental health

  • Identify sources of stress and explore the "stress container"

  • Look at thinking patterns and understand the "vicious cycle" of stress

Session Two

  • Describe the "self-care life wheel"

  • Identify activities that help or hurt you

  • Discover how mindfulness and self-care can make you feel better

  • Create a personal action plan with small changes you can make

Every participant will receive a toolkit before the course. This toolkit includes:

  • Stress container

  • Life Wheel

  • Self-care takeaway menu

  • Wellbeing activities

  • Marginal gains

  • 10 Keys to Happier Living

Mental Health Awareness

Mental Health Awareness is a course that helps you learn about mental health and related issues. This training is meant for everyone and will help you understand:

  • What mental health is and why it matters

  • What can affect mental health

  • How name-calling and stereotypes can make recovery harder

  • How to start a conversation about mental health with someone

  • How to help someone who is feeling sad or anxious

  • How to take care of your own mental health

The training is led by a teacher approved by Public Health. It includes group activities, talks, and discussions.

Course Times: 10:00 to 15:00

  • How mental health can change

  • Basic facts about mental health issues

  • Things that protect our mental health and things that can be risky

  • Understanding stress and how to manage it

  • How to notice when someone is having a tough time and how to help them

  • Where to find more support

  • How to feel confident in helping someone who is upset
