Version 7 of Wirral Schools Drug Policy Framework and guidance has recently been released. The policy has been refined and updated to meet the evolving needs of young people and how schools respond to drug incidents. The completed document has distributed to all primary, secondary schools, and alternative provisions across Wirral.

The comprehensive document is now readily available to the public, attached above, and can also be accessed on The Wirral Safeguarding Children's Partnership website under the title "Wirral Schools Drug Policy Framework." This user-friendly resource provides essential insights into the protocols and procedures surrounding drug-related incidents within educational institutions.

Notably, the Wirral Schools Drug Policy Framework incorporates a groundbreaking addition—a new vaping policy framework developed in collaboration with Paul Campbell, Health and Wellbeing Support Manager at the Tobacco Control Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (North West). This innovative approach is designed to address the emerging challenges posed by vaping among students, ensuring that schools are equipped with the necessary tools and guidance to handle these issues effectively.

The North West Schools Vaping Policy Framework, referenced in the Wirral document, is available to view as a downloadable PDF.
